Ecotherapy (Walk & Talk Therapy)

What to Expect:

Ecotherapy, sometimes called walk-and-talk therapy, offers an opportunity to engage in psychotherapy while walking outdoors in a natural environment.

For many individuals, being in nature can support nervous system regulation, emotional processing, and reflection in ways that feel different from traditional office-based therapy. Movement and exposure to natural surroundings can help reduce stress, improve mental clarity, and create space for deeper conversation.

These sessions take place while walking together in a natural setting and integrate elements of psychotherapy with mindful movement, somatic awareness, and nervous system regulation practices.

Ecotherapy sessions are 90 minutes in length, allowing time for movement, reflection, and therapeutic conversation.

In Ecotherapy Sessions We May:

• explore emotional patterns and life experiences while walking in nature
• integrate mindful movement and somatic awareness practices
• develop strategies for nervous system regulation and stress reduction
• reflect on life transitions, relationships, and personal goals
• reconnect with the body’s signals and internal cues
• create space for clarity, perspective, and deeper insight

Many clients find that walking side-by-side can make difficult conversations feel more natural and less pressured than sitting face-to-face in a traditional therapy setting.

Who Might Benefit from Ecotherapy:

Ecotherapy may be particularly helpful for individuals who:

• feel more comfortable talking while moving
• experience stress, burnout, or emotional overwhelm
• want to reconnect with their body and nervous system
• find nature to be grounding and restorative
• are seeking a different therapeutic environment than traditional office sessions
